Baby's 1st Halloween

50%Mommy

+

50% Daddy =100% CUTE

This Halloween was Leyna's 1st Halloween. When I was pregnant I told Juan he needs to make sure he got Halloween off this year because it would be her first Halloween. Well by the time he remembered to ask for it off there was already too many people taking it off so he was out of town for her first Halloween. It was kinda a bummer, but I have such an awesome sweet sister who invited us over to spend Halloween with her family. Thank you Brooke, we had a lot of fun. When I started thinking about what I wanted to do as far as costumes go, I wanted to do some kind of theme with all three of us (this is when I was assuming Juan would be off). I couldn't really find any costumes I was crazy about for Leyna and everything for me was not modest. So I took on the crazy challenge of sowing out costumes. I didn't think it would be that much work, but I didn't get to it as soon as would have liked and I did it all in the 3 days I was a "single Mother". The work paid off though. They ended up being pretty cute. Our friend from church had a Halloween party after Halloween and Juan was able to go to that so we all wore our costumes.

Before we took the kids trick or treating we took some pics of them in their Halloween shirts. This is just one I took on my camera. I'm sure the one on Brooke's are a lot better. I'll post them as soon as I get them from her.

She wasn't very happy cus she didn't get a good feeding before we went out trick or treating. (I guess the "devil" side of her decide to come out that night). No, she really wasn't bad, just not happy.
A little boy that went trick or treating with us put on Leyna's wings and he thought he could fly. It was so cute and funny, but his dad sure didn't like the idea of his son wearing girly wings. =)

All the kiddos with Brooke. I don't know if you can tell, but Leyna is sucking on a candy. That was what kept her happy the whole time. Of course it was complete mush by the end.
Leyna had a great time trying to eat all the candy.
What a great way to end the night! =o)

Party Time

Leyna loved Brooke's bow tie. I guess Brooke didn't want to be the only one with a black nose so she gave Leyna one too. =)

Our Home away from Home

A couple weeks ago we bought a new trailer! (well it's not exactly new, but it's newer, and new to us.)We bought it to use for Juan's job. Instead of staying in a hotel we get to stay in a trailer, which for me I like better. It just feels more like home. When we stay in hotels I always have to spray everything down with lysol, always wear slippers, and I won't let Leyna on the floor cus I just don't trust anyone to do my cleaning. Well now I can know if my place is clean or not and if my sheets are clean. I feel a lot more comfortable. Juan's work pays him each day he uses his trailer, so if we use it enough we will make all the money back that we spent on it. We probably won't make quite that much, but it will pay for a lot of it. We aren't planning on doing this job to long so we don't have to long to make money off of it, but we get to keep it after which makes it worth it in the end. I also like it cus I can cook. I know that sounds crazy, who would want to cook? I do so we don't have to eat fast food all the time. Gets kinda yecky after a while. I like having my well rounded meal and it gets kinda expensive to eat out at dine in restraunts all the time that have that. Well, the day we bought it they cleaned it and then the next day they showed us how everything works and then we took it out to Ventura that day for Juan's job. The RV park was walking distance to the beach. I wish we could have stayed there longer. We were in ventura for a couple days and then we had to leave an go to Anaheim. The RV park was really close to disneyland so I got to watch the fireworks at night. Leyna really enjoyed them too. We really enjoyed being in the trailer. We were gonna go to disneyland as soon as the job Juan was at was done, but he had to go straight to another job as soon as that one was done so we didn't have time, bummer.
The beach. It was all rocky, but it was still pretty.
When we were in Ventura they had fire pit at the sites so I bought all the stuff to make smores and the that night we had to leave to anaheim so I never got to make my smores.=( I wanted smores though so we roasted marshmellows on our gas stove in our trailer. =) Wasn't the same, but it was still fun.

We even let Leyna in on the fun...Well actually Juan gave her the marshmellow and we let her take a little taste of it then we took it away. She sure did enjoy it though. Can't you tell. =)

Here's some pics of the fireworks from Disneyland

Leyna's 5 months old

Leyna is 5 months old, well really 5 1/2 months now, but thats ok. I'm always a little late getting my posts up. I can't believe how much she has grown and progressed this past month. We went to the Doctors on monday Nov. 3 and she now weighs 16lbs 4oz!!! Holy cow!!! I was so shocked when they put her on the scale. She gained about 3 1/2 lbs in a month (actually about a month and a half, but still!!!). When I tell everyone they ask if we started feeding her cereal, and yes we have, but she had only been eating it a little over a week and only once a day. I guess she just hit a big growth spirt. She loves the rice cereal! We are gonna start feeding her fruits and veggies baby food when she is 6 months. I'm excited to do that. I already let her lick my fruit when I am eating it and she loves it! She now sits up all by herself and plays with her toys. "Sitting up" toys are so much more fun! I think she would have to agree too, although it seems like her favorite things to play with is anything mommy and daddy have. She will entertain herself forever with just a piece of trash, like a candy rapper. Her favorite thing is a water bottle. I have no idea why but she loves them. She can drink out a water bottle and cup too. She loves cold water! I tried the sippy cup but she seems to like the water bottle or cup better. She is so active now. I thought we had a mellow child, but boy did we get a surprise this past month. She rolls all over the place. It's so fun watching her try and figure out how to get to things she wants. Just the other day (wednesday, nov. 5) we were packing to leave out of town again for Juan's job and she was on the bed. Well she saw something she wanted and scooted her self over to it. I guess you could call it an "army crawl". Now that she discovered that she just goes all over the place. I thought she could get around with rolling, but this "army crawl" she can get anywhere she wants. She just surprises us with the things she is learning everyday. It's so exciting though! Her first tooth cut through about a week ago and now it seems like the other bottom one is coming in to. Everyone says to enjoy the babies as much as you can because it goes by so fast. I'm enjoying every minute of it, but it still is going way to fast! I can't believe she is almost to the 1/2 a year mark! Well, here's some pics from the last month.

Giving Daddy kisses

This is how she would play with her toys, in her bumbo, before she could sit upon her own

This is how I'm able to get to the dishes done. Bring her in the kitchen with me. If she can see me she seems to be pretty content.

She LOVES her feet.

This was the first time she really sat up on her own for a while. 4 1/2 months old.

Here she is after...Sleeping Beauty

What a cutie!

She actually fell asleep sucking a binkie, she's never done that. She doesn't really like them much, just to chew on.

Here she is with the water bottle. She goes crazy as soon as it's in her hands. It's pretty funny.First time eating rice cereal. She wasn't really interested the first time cus she was tired and just wanted to nurse, but now she loves it!Still learning the whole sitting up thing...Playing with her tongue, kinda going cross-eyed too. >o)Isn't she just the cutest!?! Love that smile!Showing off the whole outfit. The shirt says "Don't LAUGH Daddy dressed me"It ain't no fun unless it's messy! =)Playing with her new toys she got. That ball rolls all over and lights up. She loves it! She loves anything with lights. To celebrate her 5 months we went to Tony Roma's for some baby back ribs. Mmmm good. ( K so maybe we didn't really go to celebrate her 5 months but it was a good excuse.) =)

Look at her! She's already eyeballin daddy's credit card! What a big girl!

We love you Beautiful!
