MaMa

January 25, 2009

Leyna says "Mama" now!!! She's always kinda babbled it when she's sad, but not directed to me. She now says it when she wants me or sees me. She said "mama" before "dada". I've heard most kids say "dada" first so I was totally expecting it, but she said "mama" instead. It made me feel really special. She is my sweet little girl and I hope she will always be a mommy's girl.

Crawling

January 25, 2009

So three days after Leyna turned 8 months she finally crawled. It's about time!!! She has been doing the army since she was 5 1/2 months old. I thought she would start crawling a lot soon, but I guess she was content with scooting around. The funny thing is that she didn't do it on her own though. She want to be with mommy and I was cooking in the kitchen. Juan would make her crawl to get me by holding her stomache up off the floor. After about 2 or 3 trip to the kitchen she was crawling on her own. I knew she was ready! It just took her 2 1/2 months of army crawling to get there.

January 26, 2009

Now that Leyna is actually crawling she learned how to climb up the stairs and she loves it! She caught on very fast. Now we are just trying to learn how to get down so she doesn't go tumbling down them. =)

Leyna 8 months old

On January 22, Leyna was 8 months old. She is learning and growing so much! Here's some of the things she can do or say:
-walking along furniture
-very adventurous(which means more messes for mommy) =0)
-want to feed herself, but makes a mess
-Loves to eat Puffs
-gives kisses (open mouth of course)
-waves bye bye
-does "headbutt"
-gives high five
-Loves playing "patty cake"
-Can do "peek-a-boo" by herself
-When she is looking in mirror I say, "Give Leyna kisses" and she kisses the mirror
-does sign language for "more" and "all done"
-says "gah!" in a really high pitch voice
-favorite sound right now is "baba"
-Babbles all the time
-I swear she says bath, "baa". She loves the bath!
-Has crawled a little, but would rather army crawl. I know she can do it, but wont.
-Gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth like she's ready to take off crawling, but then goes down and army crawls.
-Got her top right tooth January 2 (tooth #3)
-Got her top left tooth January 9 (tooth #4)
-Is a total mommy's girl. Very attatched to mommy.

Now A LOT of pictures!!! I can't just pic a few I love every picture of her. She is just too cute!!!

Climb in here by herself

And got out by herself

She tries climbing on everything

Like a "hurricane". Loves to make messes. I swear she thinks if its clean she has to mess it up.

Funny ways I've found her sleeping.
Doesn't that look comfortable?
She usually sleeps with her little tooshy in the air, but this pic with the fluffy skirt makes it so cute!
Yummy
Stands up on everything
Learned how to pull herself up in her bed. Was very hard to get her to go to sleep when she first started, cus she didn't know how to get down, but she learned after about a week.
Loves sitting like this
What a COOL baby!!!
We got Leyna this exersaucer for Christmas, but she didn't want to sit inside after a few days. She would rather be on the outside.
Luckily we spent $15 more for one that converts to an activity table. So happy we did! She loves it now.
Visiting a friend. They had fun playing together and poking each others faces.(This is my friend Kym's little girl, Jersey. What a cutie. Love her long hair!)
Photo Shoot
So I have a hard time getting somewhere to take pics of Leyna so I set up my own little studio with some white satin material.
Getting ready to take pics

I love this smile! Look at those teeth.

Cuddling with her blankie. Ready to go sleep.
Playing "Peek-A-Boo"

She wanted to stand up under her tunell and go very mad that it wouldn't let her. But she got away.

I think someone is getting a little jealous...

Look what I can do!!!

On Easter Sunday, April 12th, 2009, Leyna took her first steps!!! It was so exciting. So she was about 10 1/2 months and she walked to her daddy. She had taken 1 or 2 steps here and there but this time she took like 5 steps and did very well. This video was a week and a half later(April 24). She wouldn't walk much after so we had a hard time catching her on video. Now she is wanting to walk all over the place. She stands up on something them walks to me where ever I'm at and she gets so excited when she's doing it. She is so much fun and growing up so fast. We're trying to enjoy every minute.

I know I have lots of updating, but I just had to let everyone know Leyna is walking and put this video up. Things just seem to be busy lately...With what? I have no idea. We are looking for a house though. So that is some exciting news. Hopefully we will have a house to call our own in the next few months. I'll keep you updated. Promise. I am working on getting all my updates done. So keep checking back. =) There are some older posts I just did below this one. So please check them out.

3 Year Anniversary Celebration

January 20th, 2009

For Our 3 year anniversary Juan was out of town. He got home on January 20th, so only 2 days late, better late than never though. He surprised me and didn't tell me when he was coming home. Leyna and I were out doing some errands and when we got home I walked in and saw a beautiful fruit basket, from edible arrangements, by the door. I stood there and paused for a second wondering how that got there cus I was expecting Juan to be home at all and his truck wasn't anywhere to be seen. Then I saw him come around the corner from the living room. I was so excited to see him. I put Leyna down for a nap and we got to share some of the delicious fruit from the basket together. That evening we went out to eat at PF Changes. The best Chinese food! Of course little miss Leyna came along with us, she's our little sidekick, we're not complete without her.
Thanks Baby for a great day and a wonderful many years together! I love you!

Another Cousin

Sydney Brooke Olsen

January 16, 2009 at 6:41 am

8lbs 8oz. 21inches

Leyna has another cousin! They are gonna be such good friends when they get older. They are only 7 months apart. My sister Brooke had her baby, Sydney Brooke Olsen, on January 16 at like 6:40 am. We got a call at like 5am that Brooke was dilated to a 5cm and it would probably have her in a few hours, later in the morning. Well, I was so anxious I couldn't go back to sleep. I wanted to make sure I would be there to be part of the birth and be able to take pics for them. I laid in bed debating whether or not I should just get up and get ready. I was home alone with Leyna and I didn't want to wake her up if I didn't have to. Well 7am rolled around and Eric called. I thought he was calling to tell me it would be soon, but instead he was telling me that she already had her! I was soooooo bummed!!! I thought he was joking at first, but then I heard a baby crying in the background. I guess it came all of a sudden. Brooke could feel the Sydney coming out and there wasn't any doctors in the room so Eric had to run out to get someone in there. The epidural didn't take at all so Brooke was in a LOT of pain. They say it was like a movie when the wife is screaming and yelling. Pretty funny now, but probably not at the moment for either of them. Right after Eric called I got my poor sleeping baby up and ran to the hospital. Well, Sydney is a cute chubby baby with a head full of hair. Here's some pics while we were there.

Poor sleepy baby. She usually doesn't wake up until like 9am, so 7am is really early for her.

Proud mommy and daddy. Relieved it's all over...=)

Leyna and Alaura playing at the hospital. Can't wait til all three of the girls are playing together.

Holding my little niece

Leyna is so fascinated with Sydney
